Okay first things first, Happy New Year everyone!!!!
Ive really been missing out on many things including this blog...which is very apparent from the fact that I haven't written a post since what seems like forever!
So my (one of my many) New Year resolutions include being more active on this blog.

Okay but this isn't I had in mind to write about...I wanted to talk about the 10 Best Songs of '09.
Mind you, this is my list. I'm sure many wont agree. But I think these songs are awesome and believe me if you haven't heard any one of them you have no clue to what you are missing...Do listen to them. I'm sure its gonna be worth it.
10. I Do Not Hook Up - Kelly Clarkson
I actually prefer this song to My Life Would Suck Without You any day though most people think otherwise. Maybe its because its a really peppy song and is now added to my list as one of my favorite Kelly songs. I think it is the best song in the album.
9. The Show - Lenka
Okay im not really sure how many people have heard of the song or the artist but it is simply one of the most sweetest songs. Lenka has a really different 'sunshine' voice which simply gets to you.
8.No Surprise - Daughtry
This song brings back AI winner Chris Daughtry's distinct vocals. I'm not sure how many people agree with me on this but this song is very Nickelback-like, but in a good way of course!
7. Paparazzi - Lady Gaga
This Lady should definitely be given the artist of the year award. If you haven't heard of her, you are definitely living in an alien planet. This song is more reflective compared to her other songs (with the best ones including Poker Face, Lovegame and Just Dance). If you dont like this one, watch and video, and i am sure you'll change your mind.
6. Bulletproof - La Roux
Okay I first saw this song on Vh1 and it instantly grew onto me. I simply love the pop music used and watching the video reminds you of the arcade games you used to play as a kid. I just love the retro feel to the song. But believe me, you'll love it even if you're not much of a retro person (like me).
5. Don't Trust Me - 3!OH!3
One might call this song bratty, irreverent or even insolent. Maybe since it is filled with inappropriate language. However, I still listen to it almost everyday. It just forces you to move your hips. I just love the techno and dance back music and is a really addictive song.
4. Boom Boom Pow - Black Eyed Peas
Very frankly, I'm bored of the song right now but I cannot keep it from this list considering the number of times I used to listen to it. And not just listen, I used to sing it everyday at home. It was just all over. If you like this one, also listen to I Gotta Feeling (although I'm sure most of us already have).
3. Right Round - Flo Rida ft. Kesha
Okay this is one amazing song and proves the fact that Flo Rida is genius! I really want to hear more music of this kind but its a shame I can't. You will definitely love this song irrespective of the fact whether you are a Hip-Hop person or not.
2. Fireflies - Owl City
Ill admit i had never heard of Owl City or any of their songs till somebody recommended it to me a few days back (and im glad they did). It is a well crafted song. Infact after heard this song I bought Hello Seattle, Vanilla Twilight and Dental Care, which are good singles but nothing tops Fireflies! The melody really complements the lyrics and I just love the whole electronic feel to the song and cant get enough of Adam Young's melodious voice.
1. Use Somebody - Kings Of Leon
This is truly the best single of the year. Unlike all other songs it just has everything - lyrics, beats, the works. It just has substance which separates it from the rest of the songs in the lot. Topping all its previous songs, the Kings Of Leon have really proved themselves as one outstanding band. This song has a very good feel to it.
However, there are obviously more than 10 really really good songs of '09. But songs that came really close for me are:

Tik Tok - Ke$ha
Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
